Description

"Beautiful Variegated Foliage Sets Off Wonderfully Striped Blooms!A striking and unusual accent for garden and vase! A spectacular double late, or peony-flowered, variety with unusual red stripes on pale ivory petals, Carnaval de Nice was introduced in the 1950's and is still beloved today for its bold beauty. Its blooms emerge from plump green and ivory buds that look much like a viridiflora and reach an astounding 4 inches across when fully open. The broad foliage, with its clearly defined cream edging, is equally splendid, adding interesting color and texture to the garden throughout spring. Blooming late in the season on sturdy, 18- to 20-inch stems that stand up to spring weather, it is ideal for cutting. Zones 3-7."
