Description

Here's one of the showiest and most garden-worthy Azaleas ever grown! Not only is the foliage neatly edged in white, but the blooms are a glowing shade of rosy-red, and the fall foliage is tinged with red. This very early-blooming variety offers three seasons of spectacular color in a compact package. In early spring, the buds burst into glorious bloom, warming the chilly garden nicely. The leaves unfurl with neat, crisp white variegation, set along dark, sturdy stems. This adds a formal look you will love, but this Azalea is equally happy in the chaotic border as the foundation. Reaching 3 feet high and wide, it is even small enough for containers. The variegation remains through summer, and then in autumn, the foliage acquires red hues. Locate this Azalea in full sun (in the north) to part shade (farther south and west). It was bred by famed Azalea grower Peter Girard on the shores of Lake Erie, so is reliably hardy to -10 degrees F. Yet it also thrives in the sultry temperatures of zone 9. Tough, dependable, and beautiful
